I got the promotion. I got the raise. I got the apartment I dreamed about at 22. And every Sunday night I sit in it and feel nothing but dread. I think I've been building someone else's life this whole time. I'm 31 and I don't know what I actually want.

wtf that comment "great"?? man... look, OP, you got what you were dreaming of, and now there's nothing left - make your new dreams! just think now - what will be your next dream and start pursuing it. if it's too hard and you can't think of anything yet, then listen... One practical advice: make a challenge to help one person every day. it doesn't have to be something big, it can be giving water to someone dieing from heat, it can be some professional advice to the younger colleague, anything small but intentional. believe me, in 3 weeks your life with change completely! it can be your family member, your friend, your enemy too, your neighbour or a stranger! good luck

If you're feeling lost right now, I want you to know you're not alone. There was a time when I felt like everything in my life was falling apart. My dreams weren't working out, people I cared about felt distant, and every day felt heavier than the last. I questioned my worth and wondered if things would ever get better. Looking back, I realized I wasn't weak. I was simply trying to survive a season that was never meant to last forever. What helped me wasn't a miracle. It was choosing to keep going, even on the days when I had no motivation. It was remembering that I had already survived every difficult chapter before this one. If I could make it through those, maybe I could make it through this too. So if today feels overwhelming, be gentle with yourself. Take one small step. Breathe. Rest if you need to. Ask for help if you can. Healing doesn't happen all at once, and strength isn't about never falling apart. It's about finding the courage to stand up one more time. You may not believe it today, but this chapter is not the end of your story. One day you'll look back and realize that the person you were becoming was worth every difficult moment. Until then, keep going. Someone out there is going to need the strength you're building today.

I've seen this so many times and it's always the same story - a business goes through some kind of change, new hires, new process, market shifts, doesn't matter what - and the people who get the most threatened by it are usually the ones who've been there forever and who the business owner trusts the most. and they're not even obviously wrong on the surface, that's the annoying part. "the new people are hard to work with" sounds like a normal thing to say. but scratch it a little and it's just discomfort wearing a professional suit. what they actually mean is I don't want to change how I work, they never say that part. and nobody wants to say the real thing either - if you're supposed to be leading a team and you can't work with someone new, that's not automatically the new person's problem. a lot of the time it's just someone who doesn't know how to manage, and calling it a personality clash is easier than admitting that. so instead of learning, they just get rid of the person. so the owner's mistake isn't even who they hired. it's mistaking tenure and comfort for someone actually being aligned with the business, and those two things drift apart so you don't notice until the damage is already done. and the business gets ruined slowly while everyone keeps calling that person brilliant. it's so sad to watch, every time.
