I am so tired of being the responsible one. The one who holds it together at work, who calls to check in, who remembers every birthday. Nobody asks if I'm okay. Nobody thinks to. I'm not okay. I haven't been okay in a really long time.

I needed to hear this more than you know. I think I've been so afraid of disappointing people that I forgot I'm allowed to have boundaries too. Maybe being alone for a while is healthier than constantly feeling unseen. Thank you for reminding me that the right people won't make me earn their care. I'll try to choose myself a little more from now on.

stop doing it, for real. it's hard at first, but better be alone than with the wrong people. cliche, I know, but it's true. and it's ok to be alone sometimes, even lonely. then, after you out your boundaries, the people who actually like you for who you are, will come and stay.

More Vent letters
I'm always there for everyone. It's funny how nobody notices when I'm the one disappearing.

VentI keep saying "I'm just tired." The truth is, it's not sleep I'm missing.

VentI'm not asking for someone to fix me. I just wish someone would notice I'm not okay before I have to say it.
